Types of Editing:
  • Developmental: perfect for beginners, reviews the entire manuscript and gives feedback on story as a whole
  • Content: gives feedback on the story as a whole as well as comments on content in each chapter
  • Line: takes out extra fluff words and tightens up your prose
  • Copy: makes sure the manuscript follows rules of convention from a respected source (such as Chicago)
  • Proofing: goes through a finalized manuscript before publishing to check for remaining errors
